Make Up Trends Autumn – Winter 2009/2010
Trendy means trendy! Fall-Winter 2009/2010 dictates its own outerwear, hair and make up trends. Make up is something that characterizes our nature and preferences.
But if one wants to follow vogue tendencies every season, here they are! Make up F-W 2009/2010 designers’ vision we are to walk through the season.
Tips how to flatter your figure
We can’t all be blessed with a perfect figure. However, we can wear clothes that emphasize our good points and disguise our so called bad points.

Two woman with identical bodies can look dramatically different in both size and shape simply because of the clothes they’re wearing. But how can you make the most of your body? Check out these rules to make your figure look fabulous…
1. Use light and dark colours to make your body appear more in proportion.
For example a woman with big hips and a small bust should wear slimming dark trousers or skirt and size creating light colours up top. This two pronged attack can make a huge difference to how you body looks.
2. Use horizontal and vertical stripes to widen and lengthen.
For example if you’re overweight, never wear clothes with stripes going across. This will make you seem even bigger than you are. Instead try to wear clothes with stripes going down. This will make you seem taller and as a result less dumpy.
3. Use bright colours or patterns to draw attention away from problem areas.
For example if you have a bum the size of a small country, wear a colourful or patterned top. This will help keep eyes away from your oversized natural cushion.
4. Stay away from tapered legged trousers.
Unless you have great thighs and buttocks, trousers that come in at the bottom will make you seem much fatter than you are. Trousers which are wide at the bottom will make your legs seem thinner and longer, hence the popularity of flared bottomed jeans.
5. Use scarves and pashmenas to hide, cover and emphasize.
For example a scarf around you neck will draw attention to your upper body. This can be ideal if you’re particularly heavy lower down.
6. Don’t wear clothes that are too small for you.
Fat spilling over the sides of tops and trousers is not a good look. It doesn’t make you look thinner and it definitely isn’t attractive. If you are in between sizes buy the bigger one and have it altered to fit.
7. Heels
They can make your legs look considerably longer, your bum considerably smaller and your overall appearance considerably better. They’re not for every occasion but a woman without a great pair of heels in her wardrobe is missing out on the best figure flatterer around.
Spring 2009 Jewelry Trends
Spring 2009 is in the air.

So for all of you who are extremely busy with your own home jewellery businesses I thought some hints on the key trends might be helpful.
As always we must begin with color. There are three important color stories for the season.
The first is black and white.
The new take for this graphic combo is floral. Pretty all over large flowers. What’s really fresh for black and white is taking it in a less slick direction and adding a more textural attitude.
I believe using fabric wrapped beads, printed ceramic, and glass beads from India that are imperfect is a great way to achieve a crisp but natural look for this palette.

Coral and yellow is the warm palette this spring/summer. Look to the continent of India for inspiration.
Use patterned beaded and etched metals to complement your colors. Antique finished on metal, and rose gold platings can really make this theme a bit more directional.
S/S 2009 fashion trends: 1980’s style
This season, the 80s have been the inspitational decade. We’re talking aviator sunnies, Blondie and Bowie, bright colours and statement pieces, not to mention loads of leggings and jumpsuits, obviously!

Women’s Hair Trends 2009
If you love to be in the center of attention, if you prefer wearing only trendy clothes you just cannot do without hair styles that are in vogue this season.

The choice for you is huge: extremely short, extremely girly, extremely sexual or extremely slick. However, for those more conservative there are a bob style and a mermaid romantic image.
The Cropped Bob & The Pixie Crop
If you cut the bob in 2008 and want to look stylish in 2009 you have plenty of choices. You may want to let your hair grow out or do something more extreme with your hair. No matter what you choose you will be fashionable.
Seven trends from 2008 that will last
This time a year ago, I was exhorting you never to let the jumpsuit – a grisly throwback to Seventies fashion that was threatening to make a comeback – darken your wardrobes.
Twelve months on, this garment is still poised for a major revival, and my reservations remain on high alert. Admittedly, I have now witnessed it being modelled by a more or less real woman (for a TV show). And she looked good. But the infernal conundrum with the jumpsuit remains this: what, exactly, is its point?
As we peer over the parapet towards 2009, I can’t help feeling that as mantras go, “What. Exactly. Is. Its. Point?” is hard to beat, especially when applied to any new purchase. Does it make you look better than you looked before you tried it on?
Will it pass muster in three years’ time? Can you wear it in at least three different ways? To guide us in our new sense of purposefulness, I have devoted months to trying on stuff. Here is my pick of 2008’s fashion achievements, selected for all-round brilliance and also because I think they’ll still be around in another 12 months.
1) Cropped trousers: once consensus was reached about length (just shy of the ankle), these came into their own this winter. Cute, sleek – especially when worn with the surprisingly practical shoe-boot or ankle boot – these solve the winter leg problem while allowing you to do what you want with your top half.

2) Striped T-shirts: now that the likes of Isabel Marant, PPQ and Burberry London are doing upmarket Breton jumpers, they’ve become a staple of recessionista (ie, understated but still, we hope, chic) dressing.

Bad FashionTrends of 2008
New trends come round every year and 2008 has been no exception. From shoulder pads to high-waisted trousers, everyone from designers to celebrities have been sporting the trends we’re suppose to love.
As they trickle down from the catwalk to the high street, some trends have certainly been ‘interesting’ this year and have seemed to linger much longer than the S/S and A/W constrictions of any designer collection.
First to appear on the list of worse trends for 2008 are surprisingly, skinny jeans.
These are now a staple essential within most people’s wardrobes, however as they get tighter and skinnier the trend is starting to lose it appeal. They may look great tucked into boots, but they aren’t suited to everyone.
Keeping up with fashion can be tough sometimes, but skinny jeans are just plain uncomfortable. Get a pair of wide-legged jeans and breath a sigh of relief.
Second on the hit-list of awful trends to appear in 2008, has to be over-sized sunglasses.
Over-sized sunglasses have had their day now
Queen of the over-sized sunnies trend is Nicole Richie.
The tiny star wore this trend to death this year, and as the sunglasses got bigger she tended to look more ridiculous. Thankfully, this trend didn’t take off fully in the UK, we suppose the British weather is to thank for that.
Next to feel our wrath are knee-high gladiator sandals.
Chanel walked them down the catwalk, and the likes of Victoria Beckham and the Olsen twins have been spotted wearing them. These are just really ridiculous, and it was unanimously agreed they had to feature on the list.

The gothic trend has been huge this year and has been recognised as a great trend of 2008 but things went a little to far when people started wearing black lipstick to match. This look just didn’t quite hit the mark and unlike most trends shown on the catwalk, the high street was reluctant to pick this up.
Finally to make our list is the skull motif trend.
This appeared on scarves, cardigans and hats, but it was all a bit too Pirates of the Caribbean for us. Hopefully this one will go away as quickly as it appeared. But if celebrities, like Mischa Barton and Ashley Simpson-Wentz continue to wear them, it may take pride of place on our top trends of 2009. Who knows?
