You don’t have to work in the world of fashion though to look great in what the high street has to offer for spring summer 2008. Every shape, size and figure is catered for today.
Safari - High Street Fashion Trend 2008
A perennial summer fashion look, Safari appeared in various forms at the international collections and was brought right up to date with utility touches. This equalled real and wearable looks for all, not just all in one, khaki trouser suits. Even a safari belted jacket over your old jeans will nod to the trend and get your wardrobe right up to date – and the high street is heaving with them.
Utility was the freshest incarnation of safari chic for spring summer 2008. Be inspired by the catwalks and go for utilitarian details on easy to wear summer pieces like this dress from Marks and Spencer. So versatile it’s the ultimate day to night piece - simply swap flat sandals for strappy heels. Layer fine knits and t-shirts underneath when the weather still snaps or if you want to sport the look without revealing upper arms. The key to this look is understated simplicity, so keep accessories to a minimum; a tan leather satchel, or one or two stacked bangles is all this dress needs.

Proenza Schouler’s sleeveless military dress was a standout look from New York fashion week and the fashion editor’s favorite from the minute it marched down the catwalk. This Mango dress strikes all the same notes, but the longer hemline deems it even more practical for everyday. There is also a little bit of structure to this dress which means it’s super flattering and the belted waist creates shape and curves in all the right places. The sleeveless look is key for the new season and an easy way to look fresh now.

Summer’s here and it’s time for a hairstyle tune-up!
Each new season bring lots of fabulous hairstyles that can catch your attention and make you consider trying them out and get yourself a makeover.
As you could see, short(er) haircuts took the pole position of trends in tresses, but also mid-length and longer manes are top favorites on the runway, celebrities and these are also worn by lots of fabuleux ladies out there!
Big hair with tons of volume is back this year. Create yourself a voluminous ‘60s coiff that will make you look as if you had been vacationing in the south of France and lounging on the beach all day.
How to Get the Hairstyle

Start by spritzing volumizing spray all over damp hair, focusing on the roots. Blow-dry hair in two-inch sections, wrapping them around a large round brush to give shine and volume.

Fluid flares, draped dresses, skinny belts and something see-through” is “What you’ll be wearing next summer”, according to Charlotte Sanders of Marie Clarie, January 2008 UK edition, in their article of the same name.
With Spring fashions now currently flooding into our stores, Sanders gives us a taster of what to expect further down the line.
If the average working woman is going to spend hard-earned cash on upgrading her wardrobe, then one of the biggest questions she should ask herself is:
* “Are any of these trends really wearable”?
Surprisingly, if Sander’s predictions are correct, then the answer is yes.
Not only are the majority of summer trends actually wearable, but as skinny styles and ultra minis give way to more fluid flares and flowing dresses, there is probably more to tempt the average, down-to-earth woman next season than there has been in a long time.
In her article, “Fashion Addict In Milan”, of 10 January 2008, Liz Jones of the Daily Mail asked herself two questions when she was reviewing the recent Italian fashion shows:
* “Can I wear this to work?”
* “Would I wear this on a date?”
As hot new fashion items hit the high street stores, these are key questions which would help any lady evaluate the practicality of her potential purchases.
What’s Hot for Summer 2008
There are a number of summer trends that would score highly in the office and dating department.
1. Fluid Flares

Teenage girls present a larger challenge when it comes to shopping for teens swimsuits. Spring is when a young girl’s fancy turns to thoughts of brand new swimwear. Last year’s bathing suits are so yesterday, so the search for this year’s perfect teens swimsuits begins anew every spring. Will it be a tankini, a bikini, a one piece or girl’s board shorts? The possibilities are endless, and the shopping can be too.
A Solution
Now thinking about getting new swimwear is one thing, but actually shopping for it is another. Any parent who’s ever been dragged from one end of the mall to the other knows just how difficult the task can be. But there is a very convenient alternative at hand.
Why not save the mileage on your car and your feet by letting your teen do the shopping online this season? There are hundreds of top designer swimsuit stores on the internet, as well as moderately priced swimsuits from places like Target and Lands’ End. With literally thousands of choices to be had, shopping online can be a great alternative to the mall crawl.

What’s an award show without the fashion scoop? The 2008 MTV Movie Awards brought the biggest names in Hollywood. There were many that were dressed to impress but only hot ladies made our best-dressed list.

1)Megan Fox
Megan Fox stood out from the sea of stars in a hot pink flirty dress. The dress had a bustier top and flirty too-too type skirt. If her idol Marilyn Monroe were alive now, you would have probably seen her sporting this dress.

2)Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron also opted for a strapless bustier like top designed by Dior. We all know Theron has a killer body and she definitely accented her curves by wearing skintight pants. The “Hancock” star definitely gets points for being daring with her sexy get-up.
3)Paris Hilton

Last year this time Paris was getting ready for jail, today she might have been thinking about prison wear since she opted for black and white. Paris looked classic in her strapless lace sequenced dress.
4) Lindsay Lohan

Unlike her nemesis Paris Hilton, Lindsay opted to show some leg. She chose the hottest color of this summer, purple
5) Sarah Jessica Parker

Maxim magazine might not think she’s sexy but we think she has great taste and is adorable. If anyone could pull off a short sequenced long sleeve dress with the Louboutin booties, it’s definitely Sarah Jessica Parker!
6) Audrina Patridge

Audrina is the only star form “The Hills” that made our list. She was banging with her new haircut and her “new bust” worked well in her low cut dress. The new Audrina is a far cry from when we first got introduced to the reality show star.

The Dior catwalk this year was full of seventies trends. We saw windswept tousled hair and massive eyes, in all sorts of retro shades. I love how they’ve made the eyes really pop, even though I’m not sure those geometric shapes would work well every day! The use of hairbands (See below) rings a girly twist to these manes as well.

Even though I’m as guilty as everyone else of calling Britney a “hot mess,” I’m rooting for her. Divorce, public breakdowns, losing custody of your kids — can’t be easy. Still, there’s no denying, Ms. Brit has made quite a few mistakes over the years. And her fashion don’ts are high on the list of them.
Remember When …
… knee pads were in style? Uhhh, I don’t, which is why I can’t figure out why Britney Spears wore them at her “Baby One More Time” tour back in 1999. It was the first faux pas milestone for the pop princess.
Pretty in Pink?

At the Hollywood premiere of Crossroads, Britney Spears showed up in all pink with a hint of blue spandex. Thumbs down, Brit. It’s too matchy-matchy.
The Denim Duo

While I look back fondly at the days when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were a united front, I can’t say the same of this denim day for the failed pairing.
Britney is a Pimp

No words can express how truly ridiculous the outfit Britney Spears wore to the 2000 Billboard Music Awards, but let me give it a shot. The pimp-inspired vision speaks for itself. Was Britney going to an award show or a brothel?
Bondage Meets Pop Royalty

“Hey, Britney. What are you wearing to the (2002) MTV Video Music Awards tonight?”
“Oh hi, Michael. I’m going to wear my criss-crossed, laced-up pumps, a black leather dress that has a tail on the side, a matching black leather newsboy cap, and black fingerless gloves. You?”
“Britney, I’m going to wear my gold and white shin guards with black pants, and my red velvet cropped jacket with silver chains on it.”
“Cool.”
Ummm, OK — is it just me or is this the craziest picture ever? Not even an offbeat Michael Jackson in kingdom-wear can take my eyes off Britney Spears in head-to-toe leather.
