Dannijo Jewelry

Sometimes size does matter and for Spring 2009, jewelry spouted a “bigger is still better” motto. Gone are the days of little accents and dainty jewels. Now it’s all about the exceptionally interesting and innovative pieces that will become the center of attention and define your outfit.

If you’re looking for some new investments, you’ve come to the right place. Dannijo is a young jewelry company with edgy classic collections that will elevate your style. (Plus their designs have been seen on Natalie Portman and Blake Lively.) This “gem” was established just last year by two sisters who have a knack for making exquisite handmade accessories that take your breath away. With names like Axl and Ringo and Madge on the Rocks you can’t help but put one on and smile.

Lydia Hearst’s Pringle of Scotland Ad Leaked
Our favorite Elite model with a trust fund, Lydia Hearst, stars in the spring 2009 Pringle of Scotland ads shot by Steven Meisel.

And behold! We’ve obtained a peak at the campaign’s third (she stars alongside Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe). We lamented Lydia’s lack of versatility when this editorial came out in Zoo Germany. Her expression here is the same glossed-over look — one we imagine she’d get if we were explaining something complicated to her that she didn’t understand (”We’re in a recession. Re-ce-ssion.”). But the hair is winning. Anything to give a girl some height, which we know she doesn’t need, but still.
Dolce & Gabbana’s Coffee-Table Book
Dolce & Gabbana recently released a stunning new coffee-table book called Diamonds and Pearls devoted to just that — diamonds and pearls.

The designers selected clothing and accessories from their archives bedazzled with all manner of sequins, gemstones, and pearls to photograph on very lifelike mannequins. The giant book probably weighs about twelve pounds, but the photographs are so gorgeous we lugged it to the scanner with our noodle arms to bring you a taste of it in the slideshow.

Or purchase it in Dolce stores for $270.
Victoria hots up Armani underwear ads
It’s a kind of family business for the Beckhams. Both, David and Victoria, are Armani underwear models.

Victoria Beckham is featured in the Emporio Armani women’s underwear spring/summer 2009 ad campaign that will be on show in New York, LA, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo, the source reports.
The images were shot by celebrated fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and feature former Posh Spice in black-and-white light-and-shade pics posing sexy in all black and polka dot lingerie combos.
I love the pics for their old Hollywood glamour, style, great make up, and shoes, I love the shoes.
Armani’s $17 million deal with Victoria presupposes three-year cooperation and, as I assume, a lot more hot pics we’ll see in the future.
And the question is, why Victoria?
Nina Ricci Delves Into Accessories
When the economy changes, it’s not like you want to start eating bad-tasting chocolate,” said Nina Ricci, creative director at Olivier Theyskens.
You have to stay true to what you’re doing, and the house of Nina is about luxury.”
That said, Theyskens continues to plunge forward with an expanded accessories collection, which includes a newly unveiled handbag collection and expanded footwear collection.
The handbag collection, ranging from $1,800 to $2,500, consists of hobos, shoulder bags, totes, and clutches made in luxurious leathers and textures, like the ones seen above.
“We’ve had a propensity toward so much flash the last few years,” said Theyskens, “and I wanted to make something classic with simple hardware. For shoes, Theyskens designed platform pumps and booties adorned with unexpected details. Both collections will be available come Spring.

So many girls dream of being as tall and thin as catwalk models.

And skinny girls know for sure that not all garments look well on them and they must choose carefully to avoid too long and lean look.
For the girls who are the type described these tips maybe helpful in the process of selecting clothes.
Things to remember:
- Dress in layers, they add interest and disguise thinness.
- Avoid wearing bare, short and clinging clothes.

Katie Holmes Miu Miu Ad Spring 09
APPARENTLY, Cheryl Cole’s Vogue cover was just the start of a spate of star celebrity fashion turns.

This morning, Miu Miu unveiled its eagerly-anticipated spring/summer 2009 campaign starring Katie Holmes looking positively feline in one of Miuccia Prada’s graffiti-spattered day dresses. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York last November, we’re told the idea was for Holmes to depict a “luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality” in the images, which were inspired by the films of Fellini.

Coincidentally, Holmes’ close friend Victoria Beckham is also stealing the limelight today with her first ads for Emporio Armani’s underwear line (the men’s version of which Beckham’s husband David famously provides the face – and body). Mert & Marcus are behind these too; reclining in a hotel suite in the black-and-white photographs, Beckham – who Armani lauds as a “stylish and intriguing woman” – models the label’s spring/summer 2009 collection, which comes in a sweet palette of periwinkle blue, green and pink.
