Victoria Beckham in black dress

A very Audrey Hepburn-esque Victoria Beckham was spotted making her way into LAX October 12, rockin’ her new ‘do as she strutted through the terminal like it was a runway.

Wearing a demure black dress with black Loubs, a quilted Chanel bag, and big black shades, Beckham looked every bit her Posh self. Whenever I seem to think of Vicky B., I always picture her towering in a six-inch pair of heels. However, it looks like I might need to adjust my mental image just a bit. Victoria recently told Glamour,

“I don’t own a pair of flat shoes. I don’t ever wear ballerina pumps, not my sort of thing, but the last time I went to Disneyland I wore heels and it was incredibly uncomfortable running around after the kids. I have a pair of flip-flops now. I went to Disneyland and I was wearing the flip-flops with some baggy jeans from the new dVb men’s collection. I so rarely wear flat shoes and everyone went crazy!”

Oh Posh, I highly doubt that you wearing shoes that aren’t heels would drive people crazy!

Angelina Jolie – get the look

Love her or hate her, Angelina Jolie is infamous for breaking the rules.

Far from fitting into the Hollywood mould, she chooses to play unique strong characters much like herself, in movies like Girl Interrupted and Mr and Mrs Smith. She further separates herself from the Hollywood pack with her distinctive tattoos, risqué love life and work as a Good Will Ambassador for the United Nations. Despite these differences Angelina is still renowned as one of the hottest woman on the planet.

Simply Looking Good

When Angelina walks the red carpet she is a vision of glamour. Taking influence from the 1940s silhouette, Angelina wears long and lean outfits that show off her feminine curves. Tactile fabrics like silk, satin and leather are used to create smouldering sex appeal that puts her on Hollywood’s best dressed lists. The mother of two, however, has a more practical side too. Angelina’s off work style is as smouldering and sexy as her on screen personas but is compiled with practicality in mind. A casual base of well cut denim, pants and sexy fitted tops are spiced up with ethnic details such as belts, earrings and necklaces.

Angelina, whose skin is usually a beautiful golden bronze, is often seen in shades of caramel and gold to accent her skin and dark features. We love the pictured tie waist camisole from Ezibuy label Urban . This basic long line camisole would look perfect with your favourite well cut denim, a pair of relaxed sandals and luxe ethnic jewellery for an Angelina inspired look.

In the Details

Any fashion follower will tell you that accessories maketh the look. This is obviously something Angelina ascribes to, whether it be a pair of gorgeous gold earrings, a simple chain necklace against a silk black gown or a killer pair of heels. This idea carries through to her day-to-day life. She is often spotted wearing relaxed resort-wear inspired hats, carrying over-sized safari inspired canvas carry alls, or my favourite, wearing a range of individual belts that spice up even the most plain pair of jeans.

When looking for accessories, look at the details such as buckles, buttons or gold, silver and shell detailing. Angelina maintains a natural look during the day and keeps the simple slinky shiny look for the red carpet. We love the pictured matte gold and brown suede plait belt from Dotti. This would look great with a pair of jeans or over one of this season’s silk summer dresses to add a bit of spice.

J’aime by Jaime Pressly

When celebrities decide they don’t want to continue their clothing line anymore and close up shop.

Well we are sad today because Jaime Pressly decided to throw in the designer towel and has discontinued her Jaime Clothing line.

The clothing line which debuted in 2006 was known for its sexy lines, flowy materials and somewhat Bohemian touches.  People.com reports that Jaime had to give up one thing to keep her life in balance.

Before I had the baby, I could do “My Name is Earl” 12-14 hours a day and have a clothing line.  But having three full time jobs, the most important being a mom, something had to give.  Obviously, I can’t get rid of the show, and I’m certainly not getting rid of my son,” she joked.

Well, it’s good she has a hit show and a cute 16-month-old son, Dezi, to keep busy with.  We’ll miss your clothing line, Jaime!

To get a whiff of the J’aime collection one more time, do visit their website before it’s completely shut off, at http://www.jaimeclothing.com, or look out for J’aime stuff at eBay.  You might find something good.

Smokey Eyes or Smoky Eyes Make-up Tips!

I’ve always adored the smokey eye look. It is so sexy and dramatic, mostly used for the night look. However, if done in lighter shades and not heavy layering, it can still be appropriate for the day.

Like yourself,  I have searched the net for hours when trying to learn on how to get the smokey eye look. Found tons of video tutorials and read many instructions on how to create the look. Many of them were way too long and complicated, stating that you need about 20 make up tools to create the look.

Obviously, it’s quite useful to have all those tools and colors, however, you can still create the same look by using your basic brushes, sponges, and colors. What I decided to do is create a 3 minute easy-breezy tutorial, that will create the perfect smokey eye look that can be used by make up challenged people such as myself! He-he

You are going to need:

1.    Foundation or as make up artist like to call it a primer
2.    At least 2 eyeshadow colors. I used gray and black ( they were both sparkly and not matt)
3.    Black eye pencil
4.    Mascara
5.    Eye shadow sponge or a q-tip
6.    Eye shadow brush

Judging from Sunday’s poll, Hayden Panettiere‘s look was an overall “love it” at the 2008 Emmy Awards. And that skin? Seriously, I just might need to contact Hayden’s facialist, dermatologist, and/or makeup artist.

Retro footwear

Plenty of celebrities are fond of collecting retro clothing now.

The sales are booming as never before. However, retro footwear is not so popular with collectors. Probably, it’s just a matter of time…

Some footwear designers have created their recent collections on the basis of vintage ones.

For example, in the early 2000s, Miu Miu, inspired by Terry de Havilland’s Seventies’ platforms, produced a collection leading to a resurrection of the shoe designer’s career. Now de Havilland’s fantastic pop-art python-skin heels regularly sell for high prices at auctions.

Thick bright eyebrows are Autumn-winter season trend

Visagistes define new beauty standards of autumn-winter 2008/09 season.

All of them agree in one opinion: this season eyebrows should look as natural, as possible.

Experts advise to copy style of Madonna and Brooke Shields in the mid-eighties trite century. Eyebrows should be wide, bright, dense, you practically do not need pulling them out.

Some stylists suggest even to “tousle” eyebrows slightly and give them additional brightness by means of eye shadow. In their opinion this way eyebrows will seem even more natural.

Wedding tips and ideas

The wedding celebration approaches to its end.

Dear visitors! I ask your attention! – a host’s significant tone informs. – there comes an especial and touching moment in our evening’s program!”.

In a second waiters take out (or even take out on a special cart) an air, fine, sweet miracle – a wedding pie under a general applause:

A custom to finish a wedding by a celebratory confectionery product existed in Ancient Rome. However, at that time they broke and crumbled a wedding pie over a head of the bride! It was considered that as a
result of it she would have a prosperity in everything.
